What's in a Name?

Please welcome into the world AkiAnne Rose (pronounced Ah-Kee-Ann). Wow, what a beautiful name! It is such an honor when you really think that we are given an opportunity to name another human being! It is such a special moment that we didn't take it lightly. We have put in alot of thought and meaning into her name and we would like to share this with you!

We both have had amazing mothers in our lives who have helped us create our morals, values, and shape who we are! They were both strong independent beautiful woman who are now our guardian angels looking down upon us from heaven. We couldn't think of 2 people that we would want to name our daughter after. Kengee's mother, of Japanese decent, was Akie and my mother's middle name is Ann. We have combined the two to come up with our beautiful daughters name, AkiAnne! It is one of a kind because she is one of a kind. Her middle name Rose has spiritual meaning for us. We met an amazing woman Amma who travels the world spreading love and giving hugs and mantras to people. She is like a Gandhi and was such a spiritual time meeting her. She has special Rose oils that she blesses and we will never forget that experience. Not to mention what flower is more beautiful and about love than a rose, and it was my grandmas favorite flower. Thus resulting in AkiAnne Rose.

The spelling of the name is also an Americanized Japanese name because we don't want to forget about her culture. So, just like her Daddy's name, KenGee, her name has both A's capitalized, also representing the two important names that make up her name.

The actual meaning of the name Aki is born in autumn and Ann meaning Gracious. Although these are nice the real meaning for us came from our hearts! When granted the opportunity to name someone we put all of our love and hearts into what would best fit our little girl. We cant wait for you to meet AkiAnne Rose!
